Mumbai, Aug. 16 -- Emraan Hashmi has delivered several hits with his uncles, Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt's production house. But clearly, right now, their equation isn't as rosy as it used to be.
Emraan's apparent decision to cancel the shoot of Bhatts' next film, in order to promote his upcoming release has left Mahesh fuming. He took to Twitter to show he was miffed, and wrote: "Charity begins at home. Emraan Hashmi can't 'steal' from Peter & gift it to Paul. He can't cancel MR X's shooting & do PR for Raja Natwarlal! (sic)."
On being contacted, Mahesh says, in scathing words, "I don't really want to say anything more than what I have already written on my Twitter page, but I don't know how to mince my words. I say things the way they are in no mistaken words. If you are going for a charity event to promote your film while holding up our shoot, that kind of charity is deplorable. Of course, you do charity but not at the cost of someone else."
He adds, "I am just holding a mirror up to him. He has to decide whether he wants to look at it or turn away; or keep justifying, explaining or hiding behind high-flying words to describe that this is what I have taught him." Emraan has been quoted as saying, in the past, that Mahesh was the one who told him that, in the end, only success matters, be it through fair or foul means.
We contacted the actor to learn his side of the story, and in response to Mahesh's strong words, Emraan only has this to say: "For purely selfish reasons, I'm promoting my film. But I'm also committed to Mr X, which is being directed by Vikram Bhatt. I'm sure Bhatt saab will understand my situation. As a family, we are known to wash our dirty linen in public."
Interestingly, earlier this month as well, Mahesh had tweeted about his protegg, saying, "Brand Emraan stands on the bedrock of Vishesh Films. We have huge emotional investment in him. He can run from this fact but not hide from it (sic)."
