While it was recently announced that Aftab Shivdasani has replaced Riteish Deshmukh in a sex comedy that also stars Tusshar Kapoor, we have now come to know that Shakti Kapoor has also been signed for the project. The veteran actor will be seen playing Tusshar’s father in the third instalment of the franchise produced by Ekta Kapoor.
The film will go on the floors for a month-long schedule on January 15, next year, in Bangkok. Shakti confirms the same, and sheds light on his character, saying, “Umesh Gadge, who was David Dhawan’s chief assistant director, is making his directorial debut with this film, and he wanted me to play a ‘tharki’ father to Tusshar. The character has been married twice, and one of his wives is a young woman, who is not under his control.”
The veteran actor also feels that it’s a special collaboration for him. “I have worked as a villain in over 50 films starring Jeetendra, and I have known Tusshar since he was afive-year-old kid. I share a close relationship with their family, and working with Tusshar is a very emotional commitment for me,” adds Kapoor.
Ask him, if he is afraid that his image will be stereotyped post the sex comedy, especially now that his daughter, Shraddha Kapoor, is a successful actor, and pat comes his reply, “It’s a film. And my character also encourages his son todo things on his own and be successful. The sex comedy genre has been appreciated by the audience in the past, and I hope this will also shape up well.”
