Mumbai, April 6 -- Last year, Dia Mirza had auctioned her wedding sari to help an NGO raise funds for the education of underprivileged children.
Later, she also participated in a marathon to support rural development. Now, the actor has associated herself with yet another cause; this time, for the visually-impaired.
"The people behind the initiative, Your Voice Their World, claim that poetry has a positive effect on visually impaired people. Thus, they decided to create audio clips of poetry recited by celebrities. They approached Dia in February, and she immediately gave her nod to be part of it," says a source.
The actor has already recorded the poetry that she has selected. It will soon be uploaded online. "Dia has compiled 10 verses from different poets. Few poems are of her choice, and the others are the requests she had received from the visually-impaired people," adds the source.
When contacted, Dia refrained to talk about the association at length, but called it a "wonderful initiative".
