New Delhi, Dec. 22 -- It is not every day that one sees Deepika Padukone teary-eyed off screen. But that is what happened on Friday evening, as the 27year-old actor received an award from her father, former badminton ace Prakash Padukone.
Deepika, who received CNN-IBN's Indian of the Year 2013 award in the special achievement category for delivering five back-to-back hits in 2013, broke down when she was asked how it feels to receive an award from her father.
"A bit overwhelming," was all that she could manage in a choked voice. Composing herself after a while, as her dad stood silently by her side, she said, "This (award) is for my parents who allowed me to live my dream. This has been possible because they believed in me more than I believed in myself."
Asked if she is usually emotional, Deepika said, "Yes, I am an emotional fool. And I think it's okay to be one. My dad has always told me to be honest in life."
