Mumbai, Oct. 26 -- Deepika Padukone has had a great 2013 so far, with three back-to-back hits - Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express. And now, it looks like a private stockbrokers' association in Mumbai wants to share some of that good luck to help start their new financial year with a bang.
During Diwali, various stockbrokers' associations around the city hold special Lakshmi Puja ceremonies, in addition to the one held at the Bombay Stock Exchange, which is an important occasion. It marks the end of the Hindu financial year and the beginning of a new one. "This year, they are keen to have Deepika grace the occasion. The association believes that her presence during the Lakshmi Puja will help them gain a promising start to their New Year. It is an auspicious and traditionally important day for stockbrokers," says an insider. The puja will take place on Sunday, November 3 this year.
Apparently, Deepika has been requested to visit only for 10 minutes, keeping her schedule in mind. "This year, Deepika has emerged as a strong performer. The association believes that she will bring them luck as well," adds the insider. However, despite the invitation, the actor may not be able to make time for the puja as during Diwali, she will be busy with the promotions of her new film, Ram-Leela. "At that time, she might be in Dubai for the film's publicity tour. So in all likelihood, she won't be able to make it," adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, Deepika couldn't be reached for a comment, while her spokesperson refused to address the matter.
