Deepika's special spiritual journey!

By HT

Mumbai, Nov. 13 -- Of late, pictures of Deepika Padukone visiting Tirumala temple along with her director friend, Farah Khan and film-maker Dinesh Vijan have been doing the rounds.

Not just the Tirumala temple in Andhra Pradesh, the actor also visited the Padmavathi temple there. But not many know that Deepika was accompanied by her family members - father Prakash Padukone, mother Ujjala and sister Anisha.

"It was a special and a surreal experience for her because she was accompanied by her entire family. Apart from Lord Venkateswara, Deepika also took blessings of Goddess Padmavathi, who happens to be the wife of Lord Venkateswara, and is also known to be the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi," says an insider.

Apparently, Deepika was "very keen" that she visits the temple of the Goddess before the release of her next film, Padmavati, in which she essays the role of Rani Padmini.

"Every year, Deepika visits Tirumala, but this was the first time she visited the Padmavathi temple," says the insider.

Although Deepika is in the middle of a hectic schedule for her film's promotions but she wanted to go on this "special trip".

"There was no way that she could have missed out on visiting the temple. She has been thinking about this trip, which was very personal to her, for a long time. She knew that it's the best time to travel before she gets busier with the release date of the film coming closer," says the insider.

What made Deepika's trip even more special is the fact that her parents and sister also accompanied her.

"The entire family rarely gets an opportunity to travel together. And this trip was even more special due to its spiritual and religious connect," adds the insider. Despite repeated attempts, Deepika couldn't be reached for a comment.
