Mumbai, Dec. 10 -- Deepika Padukone might not live in Bengaluru, the city that she grew up in, owing to her film career, but she still maintains a connection with the city. Now, we have found out that the actor will return to the city to attend a fundraiser that is being organised by her school.
"The big-scale event has been organised by Sophia High School to raise funds for a new wing. The school authorities also plan to use the funds to provide the students with better facilities and amenities," says an insider.
Deepika was approached about a month ago for the event that will take place on December 13. "She had a brief conversation with the faculty members and, as soon as she learnt what the function was about, she confirmed her presence," adds the insider.
Although Deepika is currently in the middle of a shooting schedule for her next (directed by Shoojit Sircar, the film also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan), she has asked her team to move her schedule around to accommodate the function. "Deepika is keen on attending the event as she has fond memories of the school, where she studied till class 10," adds the insider.
Despite repeated attempts, the actor couldn't be reached for a comment.
