Mumbai, Nov. 28 -- Currently busy with multiple films (Happy New Year, Finding Fanny Fernandes and an untitled project with Ranbir Kapoor), one would expect Deepika Padukone to not have a lot of time for her family and friends. But that doesn't seem to be the case with the actor who, this year, has delivered four consecutive hits - Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.
Earlier this week, Deepika juggled her film shoot just so she could take one evening off to attend a close friend's engagement ceremony in her hometown, Bengaluru. "Deepika has grown up with this friend, so she was really keen on attending the function," says a source close to the Bollywood star.
The actor was shooting with Shah Rukh Khan (for Happy New Year) on the day that she left for Bengaluru.
"She attended the function that night and then took a flight back to Mumbai the next afternoon," adds the source.
Although Deepika spends most of her time in Mumbai occupied with professional commitments, she has been known to maintain strong relations with her friends in Bengaluru. Despite repeated attempts, the actor couldn't be reached for a comment.
