Mumbai, June 7 -- Fresh off an overseas vacation with her family, Deepika Padukone is ready to return to work. She is set to start shooting for her 2015 releases soon.
Since multiple back-to-back schedules need juggling, the actor has requested for a month off to get better acquainted with the characters she is portraying. A source close to Deepika reveals, "She may have been largely disconnected, but now, Deepika has been trying to get into the skin of her characters. Before going on holiday, she met her directors - Imtiaz Ali, Shoojit Sircar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali - to understand their vision and nuances of her characters in their respective films. Now, she has been spending time going over the scripts and her character briefs."
We're told that it was while shooting for Cocktail (2012) that the actor realised the difference preparing for a role makes on the final performance. "Now, she has made it a ritual to understand the character in totality before every film. She takes time off to prepare herself, and begins shooting only then," says the source.
Sircar's film, which stars Amitabh Bachchan as Deepika's father, explores the relationship between the two characters. While Bhansali's is a period film co-starring Ranveer Singh, Ali's directorial is a contemporary love story, in which Deepika is cast opposite ex-boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor.
