Mumbai, July 18 -- A few days back, Salman Khan finally signed on the dotted line, confirming that he is starring in Karan Malhotra's next.
The film, that was earlier supposed to feature Hrithik Roshan, was apparently put on the backburner after even Ranveer Singh turned down the role. Now, with the film back on track, producer Karan Johar has shown interest in casting Deepika Padukone. Her name also did the rounds when Ranveer, her alleged boyfriend, was linked with the role.
Deepika had earlier hinted that she wouldn't be available to shoot for the film, since the dates clashed with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next. Incidentally, that film sees her paired with Ranveer.
With Karan Malhotra's film getting a major boost now that Salman's name is attached to it, the makers are denying that Deepika or anyone else has been roped in as the female lead.
The director tells us, "No one is finalised for the for the female lead and we will soon declare when the film is to go on the floors."
