New Delhi, March 18 -- Actor Bhumi Pednekar putting on over 12kg for her Bollywood debut is old news. The interesting part is that she didn't have to lose her sleep over losing that weight post the film's shoot, claims the actor herself.
"It was a natural process. I didn't really have to work hard to shed those extra kilos that I had to put on for my character in Dum Laga Ke Haisha," says the 24-year-old, a much slimmer and fitter person, now.
A Mumbai girl, Pednekar, who wowed the audience with her portrayal of an adorable overweight wife in the film based on mismatched marriages, says that preparing for the role was one of the best phases of her life as she was allowed to eat anything - an indulgence that our Bollywood divas can't even dream of.
"I am a food junkie. Main toh dabaa ke khaa rahi thi. Bohouth maze kiye maine Delhi mein bhi (around the time of the shoot). I am a big chatori, mujhe chaat khilado kahin pe bhi... Bengali market, Gol market. I can have chaat and samosey all day," says Pednekar, giggling as she adds, "And then after a point of time, it was like, my body was satiated eating so much. I was like, aur kitney samose kha logey! I also wanted to eat healthy so I normally switched to healthier options and lost all that weight. It wasn't tough."
