Mumbai, March 31 -- He has already received a lot of appreciation - and box-office acclaim - for his performance in Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
But what Ayushmann Khurrana admits he "will cherish for life" is a handwritten note he received from Amitabh Bachchan. "When Ayushmann met Mr Bachchan at the HT Mumbai's Most Stylish awards function, the latter told him that he is going to send him a note and flowers since he loved his performance in the film. An overwhelmed Ayushmann said that verbal praise in itself is more than enough for him," says an insider.
The following day (March 29), the handwritten note and flowers reached his doorstep. Since Ayushmann was out for meetings, his father was the one to receive the goodies; and it goes without saying that the actor's father was more than elated by the gesture.
When contacted, Ayushmann said, "I am on cloud nine after being praised by Mr Bachchan. Since he had told me at the HT event about it, I was expecting the flowers and the note, but my father was totally unaware. So, he was thrilled to see Mr Bachchan praising me."
Later, Ayushmann sent a 'thank you' note to Bachchan stating that his "handwritten note means the world" to him and that he "will cherish it for life". The young actor also thanked him for his "appreciation, blessings and encouragement." Now, Ayushmann plans to get the note framed and treasure it for posterity.
