New Delhi, Aug. 4 -- Legendary singer Asha Bhosle is no less than an enthusiastic and curious kid when it comes to trying out new things, apart from her forte - singing. So even as the Dadasaheb Phalke awardee boasts of acting in films (Mai, 2013) and walking the ramp, she is quite clear about things she doesn't want in life. For instance, a biopic.
"Mujhe nahin chahiye biopic. Mera kaam koi aur kar hi nahin sakta," says the 81-year-old, adding that she has seen a lot of struggle in life, and establishing herself amid tough competition wasn't an easy task. "When I started, mere samne oonche oonche pahaad thay ... (singers like) Geeta Dutt, Shamshad Begum and sabse bada pahaar, meri didi, Lata Mangeshkar. Maine phir English gaane sunna shuru kiya aur mera apna style develop kiya jo sabse alag tha," recalls Bhosle, who has rendered some of the biggest hits of Bollywood, including Dum Maro Dum (Hare Rama Hare Krishna, 1971) and Mera Kuchh Saamaan (Ijaazat, 1987)
Asked if she wants to sing a duet with any of the current crop of singers, and she says, "Kishore (Kumar) da, Lata Mangeshkar ke saath ga liya... jab ekbaar Himalaya ki choti chhu li, tab aur kya chahiye!"
