Mumbai, April 4 -- After a successful run in theatres in India, Anushka Sharma's debut production is now set to go abroad. The Bollywood actor's film, NH10, will be screened at the 5th Beijing International Film Festival (BIFF) that takes place from April 16 to April 23.
Directed by Navdeep Singh, the thriller will be showcased under a special category (Out of Competition Gala Presentation) at the international event, and not in the competition section. "It's so heartening to see your first baby earn both, festival invites and box-office success. I am very curious to see how the audience there will react to my film," says Anushka.
Ask Navdeep whether he had expected the film to be invited to a festival of such repute, and he maintains that while making it, he had no such thoughts in mind. "We didn't make the movie keeping foreign film festivals in mind. That's why the film being invited to BIFF came as such a pleasant surprise. It also reinstates our faith in the fact that a good film can reach out to all kinds of audiences," says Navdeep.
Last month, reports revealed that Anushka was already planning a sequel to this film.
