Mumbai, Oct. 27 -- For the first time, in director Zoya Akhtar's next, Anil Kapoor will be seen playing the role of a father to two adults.
Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra will essay the parts of his on-screen son and daughter, respectively, in the multistarrer that also features Farhan Akhtar, Anushka Sharma and Shefali Shah.
Ask the 57-year-old if he would be open to playing dad to his son Harshwardhan (who will soon make his acting debut) or daughter Sonam Kapoor on the big screen, and he says, "Why only my kids? I am ready to play a father or, in fact, even a grandfather to any of the leading actors in the industry today. I am also open to doing cameos and negative roles. A role is a role." Incidentally, Kapoor very briefly played the role of a grandfather in the 1989 release, Eeshwar.
Remind him of the film and he says, "Yes, there were just a few scenes in that. It is also one of my favourite roles."
However, the moment you prod Kapoor for the details of his character in Zoya's film, he says, "I have a lot to say about my role, but Zoya, Ritesh Sidhwani (producer) and I have consciously decided to not talk about the film till the trailer is launched."
