Mumbai, Feb. 9 -- Director Anees Bazmee is currently shooting for the sequel to his 2007 film, Welcome, at Film City in Goregaon (E). But the crew and cast, including John Abraham and Shruti Haasan, were in for a shock when they spotted a snake on their set on Friday (February 6).
While the shoot had to be abruptly stalled, the actors were rushed to their vanity vans and asked to wait there till the situation was brought under control. "John, Shruti and Dimple Kapadia were shooting in the morning, when at 11 am, someone saw the snake," says an insider.
The makers then called a professional snake catcher. "It took nearly five hours for help to arrive and for the snake to be caught. It also took some time to rearrange the set and start shooting again. The snake was then handed over to a wildlife shelter," adds the source.
The insider reveals that the crew was heard talking about a superstition that claims snakes bring luck. Confirming the news, Anees says, "A snake paid a visit on our set. The crew was saying that, apparently, this is the first time a snake has visited any film set, and that it will be lucky for the film."
