Mumbai, Feb. 16 -- Looks like actor Anaika Soti, who made her Bollywood debut with director Ram Gopal Varma's (RGV) Satya 2 (2013), is all set to make an impact in the Hindi film industry.
Though she's currently working on the south film Kaaviathalaivan, directed by, Vasanatabalan in which she is paired opposite actor Siddharth, Anaika says that Bollywood is still her first love.
Anaika tells us, "I'm looking forward to recognition in Bollywood. I want to be known as a good actor rather than just being known for my looks. That's secondary. I'm even going to take formal training in acting from Anupam Kher.
" So what is it that she's working on right now? She says, "I've been talking to some people. I will sign something by March."
However, at this point Anaika is busy with her south project. Talking about the difference she noticed while working in both industries she says, "It's difficult working down south. It's slower than Bollywood but maybe I feel so because I worked with RGV sir and he's really fast. But I'm working with contrasting sets of people. There's a lot of love and respect in this industry and I have fun co-stars. But I signed this film only because the music is by AR Rahman. He's the sole reason for me to do this project."
She is even learning Tamil for her role. She says, "The film will release in Tamil, Malyalam and Telugu, but we're shooting in Tamil and it's difficult. Since it's a period film, we're speaking old Tamil and I'm learning it on the go."
Anaika, however, points out that her focus is going to be on Bollywood. She says, "Unless a south offer is really good, I'm going to concentrate only on Bollywood. That's what my aim is."
The young actor is also passionate about music and dancing. She says, "I haven't taken any training in dance, but during my school days when I would come home for vacations, my mother would enroll me for classes. So I have learnt belly dancing and salsa."
