The Bachchan family seems to be a legal trouble magnet! They always manage to find themselves in some or the other legal problem in the most unintentional manner.
This time the reason is rather ironic! For the India-Packistan Cricket World Cup match on 15th February 2015, the father-sun duo wore the Indian flag in order to show their support to the country.
While most may think that this is an act of patriotism, the authorities have put legal charges on them for the exact opposite. Apparently, they have “insulted” the Indian flag, by wearing it in an inappropriate manner!
The complainant is named Chetan Dhiman (who clearly has nothing better to do) and his lawyer Sanjeev Sharma, and both are claiming that Bollywood stars are ruining India’s reputation on an international platform.
And so, Jr. and Sr. AB have been charged under The Prevention Of Insults To National Honor, 1971, and the Flag Code of India, 2002, and have been asked to face trial at the court.
Oh God. Maybe we should focus on more important things, or bigger “criminal” acts.
