Stars who worked with their dream directors..

Alia Bhatt

Mumbai, Dec. 9 -- Not all Bollywood actors get to work with directors and stars they dream of doing films with.

While some like Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra - who got a dream debut to begin with, in the form of film-maker Karan Johar's Student Of The Year (2012) - have been lucky, many others have had to wait for the right opportunity. Kangana Ranaut, for instance, is one such actor.

She recently revealed that working with director Vishal Bhardwaj was always on her "wish list". Here, we take a look at some other celebrities who are finally working with names they have always only dreamt of doing a film with.

FILM: Untitled THE LOW-DOWN: As a teenager, Alia watched Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) multiple times on TV. Calling herself "a crazy [SRK] fan", Alia says it's a "big deal" for her to be working with the superstar in her upcoming film. "My dad (film-maker Mahesh Bhatt) has worked with Shah Rukh, so I know what kind of an actor he is. I know how hard-working and charismatic he is," she says.

FILM: Ae Dil Hai Mushkil THE LOW-DOWN: Ranbir first met Aishwarya more than 15 years ago when she was working in his father Rishi Kapoor's directorial venture, Aa Ab Laut Chalen (1999). Now, he is "grateful" to be sharing screen space with Aishwarya. "How many actors from my generation are going to get the opportunity to work with her?" asks Ranbir, calling her "amazingly talented and beautiful"

FILM: Ki And Ka THE LOW-DOWN: Although Kareena has many young admirers in Bollywood, Arjun says that "there is no bigger Kareena fan" than him. "When we were teenagers, she was at the top of her game, and continues to be. She looks beautiful as well as hot. Plus, she is a great actor. I'm happy that I am getting to work with her in the right film, and with the right director," says Arjun.

FILM: Rock On 2 THE LOW-DOWN: Eight years ago, when Shraddha watched Rock On!! (2008) along with her parents and brother, she and her entire family fell in love with the Farhan-starrer. "At that time, I told my dad (actor Shakti Kapoor), 'If they ever make a sequel to the film, I am going to be in it.' It's so surreal how things can happen," says Shraddha, who has already wrapped a major chunk of the film's shoot.

FILM: Rangoon THE LOW-DOWN: In her decade-long career, she has worked with a number of film-makers. But Kangana maintains that she always wanted to work with Vishal. "Vishal sir was on my wish list, and now I am working with him," says the actor, who will play a film star from the '30s in his next film, Rangoon. Kangana's wish list also has names of directors like Rajkumar Hirani and Imtiaz Ali.
