With Highway's Sooha Saaha, Alia Bhatt proved that she could sing. This self-confessed bathroom singer is now bent on showing us that she also has range.
She has crooned Samjhawan unplugged for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, which was launched on Wednesday. Soulful and stirring, the song has also been recorded in the voices of Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal and is already a hit.
The song is soft and mellifluous and Alia has again done a good job with it. Infused with some more beats, it does test her singing skills to their utmost. Alia has dedicated the song to Varun Dhawan, her co-star in the film.
The song has been adapted by Sharib-Toshi for the film. It was originally sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Farah Anwar for Punjabi film Virsa.
The video of the song will be launched on July 4.
Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania, directed by Shashank Khaitan, starring Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan is slated to release on 11th July.
The actor also did a special live performance of the song in front of a select audience and media. The event was presented by Varun Dhawan, to whom Alia has dedicated this song.
Alia had earlier said about her singing, "I like soft, mellow numbers. I am a bathroom singer, to be honest. I am not looking to sing professionally or anything," added the Highway actor.
