Not many know that Akshay Kumar is a huge fan of the animated series, Tom and Jerry. And that the star’s kids — son Aarav and daughter Nitara — watch it too. But the actor has now taken his love for series to another level in his forthcoming film — the remake of Shaukeen (1982).
Apparently, a few weeks ago, Akshay’s kids were watching the cartoon series, and the actor also happened to be there. While watching it, he came across a particular sequence in which the characters were shown sitting on a couch that was hanging in the air, since it was attached to a helicopter using ropes.
That sequence stayed in Akshay’s mind. And since he loves doing different kinds of action sequences, he thought of using it in one of his films. A few days ago, he decided to use it in a sequence of a project that has Lisa Haydon cast opposite him. “Although Lisa was a bit scared, Akshay made sure that everything was fine. In fact, he gave her some tips too,” says an insider.
When contacted, Lisa says, “It was a bizarre sequence. But then, Akshay told me he had seen his kids watching Tom and Jerry, and there was a similar sequence in it that he was inspired by.”
The actor, on his part, says, “Yes, I was inspired by a sequence from Tom and Jerry. The TV series has some of the best action sequences I have ever seen.”
