New Delhi, April 20 -- Singer-composer Manjeet Ral aka Manj, known for churning out Bollywood hits such as Aloo Chat, Saddi Gali and Rafta Rafta, says he wants to only compose music in the future.
"For now, I'm happy composing and singing, and I love performing live. But my long-term goal is to be a music composer for movies. Bollywood has been great to me," he says.
The former member of the British band RDB (Rythm, Dhol and Bass) has composed the title track of an upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer and calls it a 'dream come true'. "They (the makers) told me I had the right to use a few dialogues from the film, Sholay, and I was really excited to work on that. Akshay paaji called me one day and said, 'I didn't like my film's title song, so I want you to make it'. So, I made a rough scratch of the track in a hotel room in Delhi and sent that small 30-second scratch to him. He called back after 10 minutes saying, 'I love it'. He then got in touch with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the producers, and gave them the track. They all loved the song," he says.
