Mumbai, June 20 -- Soon after the release of his last film, Akshay Kumar flew off to Mauritius to shoot for his next - the remake of Shaukeen (1982).
The actor also took along his family - wife Twinkle and kids, son Aarav and daughter Nitara - to the island nation. And after shooting for around a week, the actor has left for New York, USA, for a family vacation.
"Akshay shot for around five-six days in Mauritius, even as his family gave him company. After wrapping up the schedule, he flew straight to New York, instead of returning to Mumbai," says an insider.
Akshay will be spending a month travelling around the country before coming back in July to start the promotions of his next film. "Akshay never misses his annual family holiday. It's his way of spending quality time with his family because, when he is working on his films in India, he hardly gets any time with them," adds the insider. Despite repeated attempts, neither Akshay nor Twinkle could be reached for a comment.
