Mumbai, May 13 -- It was recently reported that Sujoy Ghosh, who last directed Kahaani (2012), was all set to start work on a film adaptation of the novel, The Devotion Of Suspect X, by Keigo Higashino.
Apparently, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut have been confirmed for the lead roles. However, now, it seems that this project will only go on the floors in September this year, and not in April, as it was initially planned.
Interestingly, Ajay Devgn will soon be seen in a Hindi remake of a Malayalam movie - Drishyam (2013) - that also happens to be an adaptation of Higashino's novel. This Bollywood remake is being directed by Nishikant Kamat. Since this film is set to release on July 31, the makers of the Saif-and Kangana-starrer are now waiting to watch it before they start shooting their own project.
"Apart from making sure that there are no visual similarities between the two projects, this delay will also give their film some breathing space after Ajay's movie releases," says a source.
Meanwhile, the insider adds that Saif and Kangana are trying to readjust their dates, keeping the delay in mind.
