Mumbai, April 6 -- A few months back, it was reported that actor Ajay Devgn's directorial venture had been indefinitely delayed.
The film that was set to launch actor Saira Banu's grandniece, Sayesha Saigal, had hit a roadblock due to budgetary issues.
However, now, things seem to be falling in place again, as Ajay plans to resume work on the project. Sayesha's mother, Shaheen Banu, confirmed the news, and said, "Ajay has assured us that his film will roll in its due course. The shooting may not begin immediately, but it will start by the end of this year or early next year. Ajay has asked Sayesha to take up other projects in the meantime."
Ajay last directed U Me Aur Hum in 2008. Initially, the Bollywood star's film was supposed to go on the floors by the beginning of this year. Apparently, the crew even visited Canada in January for the same, but returned without shooting a single scene.
Explaining why that was the case, Shaheen says, "The weather conditions were not conducive to shoot in Canada, as it was very cold." Sayesha, meanwhile, is keen on making her debut with this film. She has apparently even rejected a few other offers, including one for a project opposite Tiger Shroff.
