By Bollywood.com News Network

In the Hindi film industry, where many female lead actors, had retired for good from work after marriage, many others had taken up temporary sabbatical from work.

This month will see the former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to make her grand comeback. She had taken a break from work for few years now ever since she became pregnant. She wanted to be a hands-on mom till her kid had grown up a little bit. Now that her daughter Aaradhya is a little grown up, Aishwarya has returned with Sanjay Gupta’s upcoming suspense thriller movie, Jazbaa.

Let us look at the other top actors in Bollywood who made a comeback recently.

1.    Sridevi: Sridevi was a Queen who ruled Bollywood then, and now also she has proved why she was the Queen. Her acting skills and dancing skills had made her successful not just in Hindi film industry but also in the entire South Indian film industry too. For 15 long years, she stayed away from the limelight. She got married to filmmaker Boney Kapoor and had two daughters with him. Then she wanted to be with them through their growing years. Now her daughters are grown up but our beloved Sri remains evergreen. Her comeback movie was English Vinglish in 2012 about a Maharashtrian homemaker who specialized in making and catering laddoos to weddings. She used to face discrimination from her own onscreen husband and daughter, but on a trip abroad, she learnt English and speaks out her angst. This kind of power packed performance of a normal woman from India made Sridevi gain respect from one and all.

2.    Madhuri Dixit: She had got married to Dr. Nene who was settled in USA and had moved to a life with him there post marriage. After Devdas, she took a break and came back to act in a dance-based role in Aaja Nachle. Though the film was most anticipated, yet it was not destined to stay in the box office for long. It bombed and she returned to USA with her husband and kids again. Then again she came back in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and made a cameo appearance for a song with Ranbir Kapoor. The year 2014 was a lucky year when she made her proper full-fledged comeback with Dedh Ishqiya and then to became a judge to dance reality shows on television too.

3.    Kajol: When she took a break after Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, her fans really felt bad. Then she tried to come back with the blockbuster film opposite Aamir Khan, Fanaa in 2006. Then again she vanished from acting till 2010 when she tried to make a comeback with Toonpur ka Superhero and even with her husband Ajay Devgn. But these did not work magic for her. Though Kajol has been making appearances now and then, she is making a real comeback this time once again with her favorite co-star and best friend, Shah Rukh Khan in Rohit Shetty’s film, Dilwale. We just cannot wait to see her back on screen!

4.    Preity Zinta: The dimpled actor who won our hearts with Dil Se and who made her mark with films like Lakshya and Dil Chahta hai, vanished from the spotlight after 2007 debacle of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The year 2012, she had announced of launching her home production venture, Ishqk in Paris that had her and a new face, actor Gaurav Chanana in the lead. Sadly, the film faced plenty of hurdles and could get released only in May 2013. By then, the actor had been urged to change his name from Gaurav to Rhehan Malleik. But not all these tactics could prevent the film from bombing. Thanks to IPL, we get to see Preity, cheering for her team Kings XI Punjab from the stands.

5.    Karishma Kapoor: Her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan was called off in 2003 and that was when he had last seen Karishma Kapoor on screen too. She got married to a Delhi based entrepreneur, Sanjay Kapur. But though they had children too, their marriage hit the rocks right from the day one. This said, she filed for divorce and soon she tried to make her presence felt by doing a cameo role in Om Shanti Om’s Deewangi song. She then totally got the divorce and has ever since tried to get back to her true calling- acting. In 2012, she acted in a supernatural thriller, Dangerous Ishq. Sadly, the film bombed at the box office. But she has been constantly coming on television reality shows regularly.
