Mumbai, Dec. 4 -- After promising performances as a child artiste in films like Mr India (1987) and ChaalBaaz (1989), Aftab Shivdasani returned to films in 1999 as the lead actor in Mast. He then followed up the success of that film with other hits like Masti (2004), Kasoor (2001) and Hungama (2003). However, post that, he vanished for several years, before he made his comeback with his last release, Grand Masti (2013).
Now, Aftab's career might just get another boost as he has signed a three-film deal with Ekta Kapoor's production house. Two of the films he has been signed for are the third and fourth installments of a sex comedy franchise. The subject or details about the last film he has signed have not been disclosed as yet.
When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO of Ekta's production house, confirms the development, saying, "Aftab did well in Masti and Grand Masti. He has brilliant comic timing, which is required for a comedy film. In fact, we plan on casting him in some of our other films too."
Apparently, Aftab will replace Ritiesh Deshmukh in the installments of Kyaa Kool Hai Hum franchise.
