After years of speculations and the duo being spotted together, Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra got married on April 21, in Italy, in an 'intimate affair'.
In a statement issued to media, Rani Mukerji was quoted as saying, "I would like to share the happiest day of my life with all my fans all over the world whose love and blessings have been part of my journey all these years. I know that all my well-wishers who have waited for this day will be really happy for me. It was a beautiful wedding in the Italian countryside with just a few of our close family and friends with us."
"The one person I missed teribly was Yash Uncle,but I know he was there with us in spirit and his love and blessings will always be with Adi and me.I have always believed in fairy-tales and with God’s grace my life has been exactly like one, and now as I enter the most important chapter of my life," it further added.
Aditya divorced his first wife and childhood sweetheart Payal Khanna in 2009. His parents still share a good equation with Payal despite the divorce.
Aditya's cousin Mini Basak, told Hindustan Times that she was not aware of the wedding. She said, "Was it not in Mumbai?" Further, talking about Aditya-Rani's relationship, she added, "Aditya never really talked about it. He told us that he was in a relation with Rani but we had no idea about the marriage."
Aditya and Rani are set to bring their next film tentatively titled Mardaani, where she plays a cop. The film is being directed by Pradeep Sarkar.
