Mumbai, Feb. 8 -- Aditya Chopra's next production, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana and debutant Bhumi Pednekar, will hit theatres a week earlier than planned. "Despite his distribution team recommending a March 6 release, Aditya has opted to push it back to February 27," says an insider from the film's unit.
The source reveals that the March date, which marks the Holi weekend, would have been ideal, but Aditya's decision was influenced by the fact that Anushka Sharma's debut production, NH10, is also releasing the same day. Since he had launched her in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), and is now launching Bhumi, he didn't want their films to clash.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the production house confirmed the news and said, "The distribution team felt that March 6 was a better release date because it is the Holi weekend, but we chose a prior date for emotional reasons. Both Anushka and now Bhumi are Aditya's launches, and we did not want their films to clash."
