Mumbai, Nov. 2 -- After his second film, Besharam (2013), didn't do well at the box office, Abhinav Kashyap had almost fallen off the radar. Now, there seems to be a ray of hope for the director as his friend, producer Yash Patnaik, is considering backing his next.
"The two are often spotted having discussions at various cafes or in Patnaik's office," says a source close to the director. There were several rumours claiming that he was unable to find a producer for his next venture, though his directorial debut, Dabangg (2010) is one of Bollywood's biggest grossers of all time. Though the rumour mills also suggested that his brother, Anurag Kashyap, will back his new film, there was no confirmation.
Apparently, Abhinav is in the final stage of writing the script for the film, and if Yash finally comes on board, work on the movie will start soon. Despite repeatedly trying to reach Abhinav, he remained unavailable for a comment, but Yash gave some hint of this development. "He is a great friend, and I am a great admirer of his work. It's very early to talk about the project as we haven't finalised anything as yet," he says.
