Mumbai, Dec. 16 -- Abhay Deol, who is pursuing production as seriously as his acting career, is trying to break the convention of making films only with stars. The actor's first production project, One By Two, which also stars him, is slated to release in February next year. Abhay is reportedly not taking up any acting projects until his release, but is engaging himself in developing his production enterprises.
A source close to the actor says, "He is seriously searching for young talent - actors, directors and writers - to work on fresh ideas on the lines of world cinema.
His new production venture wants to provide a platform for fresh talents with innovative ideas."
In the past, Abhay himself has worked with then-debutant directors like Imtiaz Ali in Socha Na Tha (2005), Navdeep Singh in Manorama Six Feet Under (2007) and Reema Kagti in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd (2007). The source also reveals that the actor-producer has created a system to meet at least one new talent every week and work on the scripts he receives or the ones he already has in store.
When contacted, Abhay confirms this development saying, "I would really like my production house to be a creative hub where new talents are launched. We would love to work with as many new writers, directors and actors as possible."
