Mumbai, June 22 -- Abhay Deol, who is known to be very particular about the roles he takes up, will be seen in a thriller film. While he was lauded for his performance in the 2007 thriller, Manorama Six Feet Under, he is set to portray another challenging character.
Interestingly, this film also marks the Bollywood directorial debut of cinematographer Sethu Sriram. He has been associated with several Hindi films like Wanted (2009), Shakti: The Power (2002), Tere Naam (2003), Milenge Milenge (2010) and OMG: Oh My God! (2012), among others.
While Abhay is choosy about the roles he takes up, the cinematographer-turned-director says that he didn't have to push the actor too hard to get him on board. "He has signed on the dotted line. We have a chock-a-block schedule that starts on July 1. I always had Abhay on my mind for this role and when we approached him, he loved the script. It happened seamlessly. We have had a few reading sessions and Abhay is really excited to get this rolling," says Sriram.
The actor is apparently essaying the character of Kabir Taneja, a young corporate consultant in Mumbai, who mediates mega deals with men with big money. "We are yet to decide on the female lead opposite Abhay and some of the other character roles," says Sriram.
