Mumbai, Sept. 4 -- Aamir Khan has always been choosy about the films he signs. For the past few days, there have been rumours about him giving the nod to two films - one directed by Karan Johar, and the other, a wrestling-based film helmed by Nitesh Tiwari (of Bhoothnath Returns and Chillar Party, 2011, fame). However, insiders rubbish the reports, saying, "As of now, no project has been green-lighted by him.
Yes, he has heard a few scripts, but that doesn't mean he has committed to doing any project. There are always ifs and buts involved before any film gets finalised, so let's see. Officially speaking, besides his next, he has no new project lined up."
Reportedly, Aamir had started working on his physique to be able to play a wrestler in Nitesh's film. There have also been talks that Karan has been visiting him regularly to discuss his directorial venture. In an earlier interview to HT Cafe, the film-maker had said, "I'm writing (the script) as we speak. I will start filming next year. The cast, and other details, will all be finalised when I have the screenplay ready."
Currently, Aamir is finishing work on Rajkumar Hirani's film. He will also get busy promoting it in the lead-up to its release in December. Apart from this, he is working on the next season of his TV show. The insider adds, "It looks highly unlikely that Aamir will clear any new film before he has a clean slate. Right now, he is also focusing on the TV show, which will go on air soon." Aamir couldn't be reached for a comment.
