Mumbai, Oct. 5 -- Aamir Khan, who is working with Rajkumar Hirani for his next, has Sanjay Dutt as one of his co-stars. The three would often have long chats on the sets, which often revolved around Hirani's films, including the Munna Bhai series. We're told that during these discussions, Aamir expressed an interest in playing the role of Circuit, which has been portrayed by Arshad Warsi so far.
An industry insider reveals, "While shooting, the three of them would have conversations about Raju sir's films. During discussions about the making of Munna Bhai (2003), Aamir would always say that he'd like to do the role of Circuit. He has always liked the films and he told Raju sir that if there ever was a third installment in the series, he would love to play that role. It helps that he's played something similar in Rangeela (1995)."
While Hirani has now worked with both actors more than once Aamir and Sanjay, too, have been friends for many years. "The three of them are now in constant touch. Sanjay - who is in jail at the moment - has been writing letters to Raju and Aamir to know how the movie is shaping up. He has also loved Aamir's idea," says the insider.
When contacted, Hirani confirms the news while his spokesperson adds, "Aamir is often heard saying that he would like to do the role of Circuit. Aamir, Sanjay and Raju's camaraderie is well known on the sets, which only makes it comfortable for them to work together."
