Mumbai, July 23 -- It's a known fact that Aamir Khan's next (directed by Rajkumar Hirani) is releasing on December 19. Interestingly, Anees Bazmee's film, starring John Abraham, is also slated to hit theatres on the same day.
Even as trade experts are guessing whether the makers of John's film will shift their release date, Bazmee says he too doesn't want the clash. "I feel that two big movies should not clash (at the box office). It's not good for both the films' business. But I am only directing my film. So if my producer (Firoz Nadiadwala) wants to release it on a certain date, it's his prerogative. And if he wants to release it on the scheduled date, the film will be ready by then," Bazmee says.
Ask the director if they have tried to get in touch with the other side (the makers of Aamir's film) to work out a solution and he says, "No. It doesn't make sense to talk (to them). Everyone is free to release their films at the time that they deem fit."
Meanwhile, Bazmee's film (a sequel to Welcome; 2007) is yet to be completed as the last schedule is still pending. "It will be taken care of. Two songs have to be shot and they won't take much time. Readying the film for release isn't an issue," he says. The last schedule is likely to kick off in the next couple of months.
