Mumbai, June 12 -- His action stunts and comic timing have kept us coming back to his films such as Rush Hour (1998), Shanghai Knights (2003) and Police Story (1985). And now, his fans in India can hope to see the award-winning international actor and director Jackie Chan in person, though that would entail a trip to the capital.
Jackie, who is of Chinese origin, will be in Delhi on June 18 to attend the China Film Festival that will take place at the Siri Fort Complex. During his two-day visit (June 18-19), the 59-yearold actor is also expected to attend the screening of his latest movie, Chinese Zodiac.
"Jackie Chan is visiting Delhi in conjunction with the China Film Festival being held here between June 1823. Chinese Zodiac, his latest film, which is also directed by him, will be the opening film at the six-day festival. He will be part of a 20-member delegation visiting India," says Irfan Alam, member secretary, India China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC).
This, however, is not Jackie's first visit to India. The actor shot several scenes of his film, The Myth (2005), which also starred Bollywood actor Mallika Sherawat, in Hampi in Karnataka in 2004. He also visited Chennai in 2008 for the audio launch of Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam.
Other than Jackie, who is the biggest draw for Indian fans, the Chinese Film Festival will see other actors and members of the Chinese film fraternity in attendance as well.
