Box Office Report: What's your Rashee? has failed in the major markets - U.K. and USA
| By Taran Adarsh Bollywood Hungama News Network Post LAGAAN, which was nominated for the Academy Awards, Ashutosh Gowariker’s films are keenly looked forward to in the international arena. The talented film-maker’s last release, JODHAA AKBAR, is amongst the biggest grosser of all times. But his new outing, WHAT’S YOUR RAASHEE?, has failed to attract viewers in the two major markets – U.K. and America. Released like any other big film, the film should’ve fared exceptionally well due to three key factors – [i] Ashutosh Gowariker, [ii] Solo release status and [iii] The Gujarati factor [there’s a sizable Gujarati population in these two major markets]. who saya whats your rashee has got the biggest opening. I hv been to see whats your rashee, n its a most boring film in recent times. The theatre was 40-45 % full, and half the audience moved out half an hour before the film ended. N I think its only due to a weak and boring script, actually I feel such scripts suits for serials and not for films. Neways mistake does happen, better luck ashutosh gowarikar next time!
WHATS YOR RASHI?HASENT BEEN THE TASTE OF THE CRITICS THIS YEAR, BUT ACCORDING TO AUDIENCES THE FILM ROCKS.THE BIGGEST OPENING IN INDIA WAS IN KOLKATA AND GUJARAT.. AND IN BOTH PLACES THE FILM HAS WORKED WONDERS, ONE HOUSE FUL SHOW AFTER THE ANOTHER.
