NEW DELHI, Dec. 29 -- Actor Boman Irani is set to have a busier year ahead than probably any other star. Reason? He has over seven films lined up for the next year, some of which are still being shot, while some are prepping for release. His kitty comprises an untitled Shyam Benegal film, Shakun Batra's Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Priyadarshan's Tezz and Housefull 2.
Once Irani is through with his projects, the 52-year-old plans to go behind the camera and direct his first film. "I just love to work and spend time with my family. And that's the reason I don't look at the length of the role, but what it has to offer me. Even this year, I had multiple releases. Someone actually told me the number was more than any top star's," says Boman, adding, "Next year, I'll be shuttling between multiple projects too, but that's the kind of work that gives me a satisfaction."
After spending close to a decade in the industry, the actor plans to direct his first movie soon. "I'm not sure what genre it will be, but I have a lot of stories in my head. I'd like to write the script too. The only thing I am sure about is that it will be a believable story with a lot of emotions packed in it. I don't intend to make a melodrama, but it will be a movie straight from the heart. I'd like to start it as soon as I can, but I can't sideline my current films," he says.
