MUMBAI, Dec. 1 -- They have played heroes on screen. And now they are all set to descend on to the field. Sohail Khan Entertainment and Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) have announced Mumbai Heroes that will bring cricket and cinema together on the cricket ground.
Promising to be one of India's biggest events ever, CCL brings together the biggest superstars from the South and Bollywood for an action-packed extravaganza that will comprise of five teams, 10 league matches and a final match. The teams include stars from Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam film industries apart from Bollywood actors.
Sohail Khan of Sohail Khan Entertainment, an entertainment, events, film production and distribution house, as the owner of Bollywood's own cricket team formally announced the proposed list of players in Mumbai Heroes on November 30 at a press conference. The team will be captained by Suniel Shetty.
CCL Pvt Ltd has been formed by Rythm Media that has been producing large format events in South India since the last 10 years, Sprint Telefilms that markets TV shows, and Radaan Media that is one of the biggest TV production house in the South. The CCL games are slated to be held in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and will be beamed straight into more than 100 million households across the country.
