Behind the scenes of Billu

By Bollywood Hungama News Network

SRK- Irrfan Khan starrer Billu opened across cinema halls last Friday (Feb 13). The film is a story of friendship between an ordinary barber and a superstar. Bollywood Hungama brings you some exclusive behind the scenes stills from the making of the film.

This is the village where Billu (Irrfan Khan) and his family reside. From the looks of it, it seems like a village in Northern India but this is actually a set created at Mumbai's Kamalistan studios. The magnificent set which exactly resembles a village is the work of noted art director Sabu Cyril. Sabu and Priyadarshan have worked together in a dozen odd films and Sabu exactly knows what his director expects of him

Life in the village suddenly becomes all hustle-bustle when superstar Sahir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan) comes to shoot for a film. The star-struck villagers go crazy on seeing their favorite star. While some are seen pushing each other to get a dekko of their favorite star, other intelligent ones (including Irrfan Khan) are seen getting an aerial view of the proceedings from a tree top.

In one of the sequences in the film, Shah Rukh is seen in a get up similar to the one sported by Keanu Reeves in The Matrix series. This sequence forms part of a film which superstar Sahir Khan is shooting for. Shah Rukh is seen in a black robe with dark black glasses in this sequence.

Apart from the splendid set created in Mumbai, the film's cast and crew also shot in a small town called Pollachi in Tamil Nadu. Known for its scenic locales, the cast and crew did get to experience the real side of staying in a small town while shooting for the film. In this particular shot the D.O.P. V Manikandan is busy filming Lara Dutta and Irrfan Khan against the picturesque locales of Pollachi.

Special care had been taken to give the otherwise glamorous Lara Dutta a simple village belle look. The actress had an unforgettable experience shooting for this film. During one of their shooting days in Pollachi, Lara got the scare of her life when she saw a big snake in her room. Thankfully, she escaped unharmed but it is a memory that she will never forget.

Here, Lara and director Priyan seem to be sharing a lighter moment after a hard day's work.
