Actor Arjun Rampal is gearing up for the busiest Diwali of his life. As you read, the actor would be on his way from Dubai to London for the second premiere of Shah Rukh Khan’s fantasy-adventure RA.One after which he will fly to Delhi to be at his night-spot, Lap, for the Formula One after parties.
Once they wrap up on October 31, he will start shooting his second TV show, Love To Hate You, for Star World. The show revolves around Bollywood celebrities and their biggest critics.
They sit face to face and attempt to understand why the critic hates the celebrity or has a certain opinion about him or her, without knowing them well enough.
Arjun admits he knew his work would leave him no time to breathe. “I knew that this would happen. I’ve been planning the F1 parties for five months now. The only hiccup is that it’s been brought forward by a couple of days. So, I won’t even have the time to breathe between the RA.One premieres and the parties,” he says with a chuckle. “RA.One was scheduled for a Diwali release. And then, this show came my way. I found the concept really interesting. I took it up, and then realised how cut-to-cut my work schedule is for the next 15-20 days. My show rolls on November 2 and goes on air on November 20.”
Tomorrow, SRK and Arjun will be performing a Lakshmi pooja at Shah Rukh’s London residence before leaving for their individual destinations — Arjun heads to Delhi and SRK to Toronto.
“I won’t be home for Diwali because I will be on a Delhi-bound flight. But since the film opens on such an auspicious day, we couldn’t have missed out on the prayers, considered essential on this day,” explains the National Award winner, who is overwhelmed with the response his wife and former model Mehr Jessia and daughters Mihika and Myra have given to his work in RA.One. “I’m relieved because my biggest critics have given the movie a thumbs up.”
