Anushka bonds with locals in Kashmir!

By Hindustan Times

MUMBAI, Oct. 21 -- Indian cinema's reach has spread far and wide, finding fans in exotic locations such as Prague and Cuba while shooting. However, the unit of Jab Tak Hai Jaan was pleasantly surprised when they found out that locals in Kashmir are avid movie watchers and keep a tab on Bollywood, despite the constant unrest there.

A Still from Jab Tak Hai Jaan shot on location in Kashmir Anushka Sharma, especially, found the locals to be friendly and forthcoming. She enjoyed being with them so much that during breaks she wouldn't sit in her vanity van, but meet and chat with them. Through these interactions, the actor learnt a lot about the area and the locals' lifestyle. She also realised that the people there knew a lot about Bollywood, including songs from her films like Band Baaja Baarat (2010) and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008).

Anushka says, "It was lovely interacting with the children in the small villages. They were really cute with rosy cheeks. Also, it was extra special as my father, who was in the army, had been posted there when I was young. He'd told me interesting things about the place and I got to see all of it and try out the great local food too."
