Mumbai, June 8 -- As filmmaker Vipul Shah turns a year older today, he's probably got the best birthday gift. He tells us that his much-talked-about Namastey London 2, the sequel to his 2007 superhit film, will finally go on the floors.
Vipul says, "Akshay (Kumar, lead actor) will be a part of the movie." The filmmaker is excited about the casting but adds that it's a sheer co-incidence that this happened around the time of his birthday. He says, "Everyone kept asking us about Namastey London 2. We have waited for five years for the right story to come in. When I got it, I started writing and developing it. I read it to Akshay only when it was ready. We were discussing it for two years and he gave me his opinions and certain ideas, which I incorporated in the final script. When he heard it, he loved it and instantly agreed to do it, saying that this was his birthday gift for me."
The filmmaker goes on to add that this sequel will be bigger and better. "We will shoot the movie in London, Germany, Switzerland, a small portion in France, Punjab and Mumbai," he says. Ask him if he's finalised the leading lady and he says, "At this point, I've not gone beyond Akshay. We will start developing everything else now. This movie will take our association to a different level. We've seen a lot of success with our previous films and with this one, even our personal relationship will reach a new level."
