Akshay Kumar to play gangster!

By Hindustan Times

NEW DELHI, Jan. 27 -- This summer, actor Akshay Kumar will step into the shoes of a Mumbai gangster for the sequel of the movie, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. The film is allegedly inspired by the life of organised crime leader, Dawood Ibrahim. Writer Rajat Arora and director Milan Luthria will be teaming up for the project after the success of their film, The Dirty Picture, which released last year.

Milan, who was judged Best Director at the Colors Screen Awards for the movie, which had actor Vidya Balan in the lead, admits his crew will shoot mostly in Mumbai. "We've found a few locations that work for us. When we were filming the first part of Once Upon A time in Mumbai, we didn't go out of town to shoot. We managed to get our locations within certain old-world pockets of Mumbai," he recalls.

The sequel of the film was announced by producer Ekta Kapoor at an awards function, timed with Akshay's dance performance.
