Ajay Devgan who turned 40 on Thursday (April 2) said it felt like any other day. "Is 40 really a special age to be? I don't feel anything special. It's like any other day. I shot the entire day. No celebrations, nothing that I don't do normally."
Nudge him a little more, and Ajay admits there was a family get-together. "My entire family, my parents, sister, brother-in-law, my wife and daughter were all together for dinner. But that's something I do every time I get the chance. Yes, there was a cake. But I didn't cut it. My daughter did."
Life at 40 for Ajay means more work. "All The Best, the comedy directed by Rohit Shetty that I'm producing, is currently being shot. So I was busy shooting that. For me there's no life as satisfying as work and family."
Ajay will be directing a film later this year. "It will be a dark comic thriller. And no, there will be no Kajol in it. For those who want to see us together, there's the animation film coming up titled Toonpur Ka Superhero."
Ajay admits the animation film is taking longer than expected. "But that isn't because of recession. Animation is a very time-taking process. It needs lots of patience." Any new promises to keep at 40? "None! I feel physically and creatively fitter at 40 than I did at 30. The only new resolution is to devote more time to my blog. It has been renovated. I had been neglecting it. But now I intend to devote time regularly to it. Otherwise everything is the same. I still refuse to work with those I don't like."
