Aishwarya: It's got nothing to do with Sallu

Mumbai, Nov. 6 -- Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who celebrated her 37th birthday on Monday is upset with reports that she refused to appear on TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati with the cast of Action Replayy - actors Akshay Kumar, Neha Dhupia, Rannvijay Singh, producer Vipul Shah and wife Shefali Shah - because the proceeds were going to actor Salman Khan's charitable foundation Being human.

However, Aishwarya's spokesperson has clarified that this is far from the truth. "The story is completely untrue and as far as my understanding goes, family members were not participating on the show," she said. According to rumours, the actor had earlier agreed to participate in the show and was quite excited about it until she got to know about the proceeds going to Being human. On knowing this, she backed out of the shoot at the last minute.

Sources say that there was no last minute refusal as Aishwarya had made it very clear to her producers right at the outset that she would not be promoting the film on Kaun Banega Crorepati, being hosted by her father-in-law, Amitabh Bachchan, way in advance because of the fact that family members were not participating on the show. In fact, earlier this month, actor Abhishek Bachchan had also dropped in at the sets to meet his paa, and the visit was kept a secret until the channel sent out pictures of the visit.
