Mumbai, Jan. 25 -- The youngest Deol girl, Ahana, will showcase designs under her label, Divinorum, at the Grand Finale of the beauty pageant, Indian Princess, in the city. Ahana agreed to display her designs because the money collected from the contest will be given to the families of the martyrs from the Indian Army, and underprivileged kids.
"It's a great platform and a wonderful cause that I'm getting associated with. I think it's a good start for me," beams Ahana, adding, "So far, my creations have only been sold at the flea markets in Goa because they were casual clothes. I wanted to design something more commercial like evening wear. And look, I've got my window."
The 26-year-old daughter of actors-politicians Dharmendra and Hema Malini informs that she's trying to incorporate crochet work in her designs. Ahana designed her father's wardrobe for the reality show, India's Got Talent 3. Considering her brothers, Sunny and Bobby, and sister Esha are actors, wouldn't she like to design for them for their movies too? "It doesn't interest me," she replies, adding, "But I don't mind a one-of assignment if something interests me."
Ahana also plans to open her designer stores at Camden Market and Portobello Market in London. She reasons, "I think I can sell my designs better over there. And I haven't really found a great place in Mumbai."
