Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- Aamir Khan at an event is a rare sight. But it's even more rare for him to endorse a product that is not his own. Recently, in a first for the actor-director, Aamir was seen endorsing the film, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, which will release at the end of the month.
Says Rahul Mittra, producer of the film, "In the 20 years I've been in the film industry, I've never seen Aamir endorse any film other than his own. He's intelligent, sharp and knows what he does. Before showing up at the event, Aamir had seen some stills of the film that we had sent him. He went through all of them, appreciated our work and gave us a thumb's up. He also liked the title track 'Jugni...' a lot and was all praise for Jaidev Kumar's music"
One of the reasons Aamir showed up was because of his association with Rahul. He says, "The last time I met Aamir was 10 years ago, when he was shooting Lagaan (2001) in Gujarat. At that time, I was based about 40 kilometers away from the film's sets and would visit the unit regularly. I remember how Aamir used to get involved in every scene, including giving cricketing lessons to AK Hangal." Interestingly, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster has also been shot in Gujarat.
