MUMBAI, Feb. 27 -- Director-producer Harry Baweja's next project is a 3D animation film that will chronicle the history of Sikhism.

"I want to tell the story of Shri Guru Gobind Singhji's four sons, their lives and the importance of their sacrifices," says Harry, who has decided to make this project as an animation film for a very specific reason. "While making a film on Sikhism, you aren't allowed to cast actors or have live action, which is why making a regular movie is out of the question. An animation film will do this subject justice."

Called Chaar Sahibzade, the film will be made on a budget of roughly R25 crore and has been in production since September 2012. The makers plan on releasing it in Hindi, Punjabi, English and various other Indian and foreign languages towards the end of 2013.

Talking about the history of Sikhism, which is what inspired him, Harry explains, "It's a story of martyrdom. Shri Guru Gobind Singh's four sons lost their lives when a Hindu king got insecure about the emergence of Sikhism. That king then deceived the Sikh sect and attacked the community with some help from Aurangzeb's army, when they were least expecting it. It is in this conflict that the four boys - aged 18, 14, nine and five - fought with the Mughals and lost their lives."
